Sellersville
Theater 1894's small size (325 seats) makes it the ideal "first
live theater" experience for children. The stage is completely
visible from every seat, and the sound system is state-of-the-art.
Your children will share an intimate theater experience with the
performers that will impress and fully engage them from the moment
the curtain opens.
The Shining
Princess
Of The Slender Bamboo
This well-crafted adaptation of a much beloved Japanese folk
tale does a wonderful job of introducing children to a beautiful
story from another culture. Often called “Kaguya Hime”
(Glittering Lady), it will delight and stretch our audiences
with its haunting music and magical events. The Shining Princes
Moonbeam, daughter of the Moon King, descends from the skies
to be raised by a poor peasant couple. Soon there are bumbling
suitors and a dramatic clash between the Moon King and the Emperor
leading up to a memorable finale.
