LIVESTREAM: Montréal Guitare Trio

The Montréal Guitar Trio (MG3) surprises, amazes, exalts, and ignites audiences with their dynamic and breathtaking stage presence. This passionate trio has been sharing their work with fervor for over 25 years. In addition to their three guitars, these multi-instrumentalists also sing and play the violin, mandolin, bass, accordion and more.

Now, the virtuoso trio (Sébastien Deshaies, Glenn Lévesque and Marc Morin) is presenting a tribute concert in memory of the great Ennio Morricone. From the beginning of their career, the music of this legendary composer has been a significant part of the trio’s repertoire. This special concert dedicated to his memory will also feature special surprises with the unique flair that only the MG3 can offer.

Guitarist Matt Richards grew up in the culturally fertile cross-currents of the 1960s. His musical pathway opened in the mix of folk, rock and psychedelic music that defined that decade and eventually guided him into the hyperactive jazz-fusion of the 1970s. As his musicianship developed, he discovered straight-ahead jazz and classical music and began performing as a solo acoustic artist.

Matt has been featured as both a solo artist and with his trio in major festivals, most notably the Montreal Jazz Festival, One Month Festival of South Korea, Welcome America, the Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival, and various NAMM Shows. His musical collaborators include guitarists Larry Coryell and Tony Hughes, organist Joey DeFrancesco, bassist Bill Zola and drummers Kenwood Dennard and Adrian Valosin.
