Not So Silent Cinema "The Mark Of Zorro"

(Cabaret section reserved for Theater Members until 3/24/14)     Enjoy a unique presentation of the classic "Mark Of Zorro" accompanied by a live musical performance by Brendan Cooney's quintet. In addition to playing piano with the West Philadelphia Orchestra and The Rhinoceri Trio, Brendan composed the score under his project 'Not So Silent Cinema.' The silent film classic "The Mark Of Zorro" was a huge success in 1920 blending action, adventure, romance and comedy. Douglas Fairbanks’s portrayal of Zorro, the black clad outlaw-hero, set the standard for all future versions.

“Cooney's original scores provide a 1920's urban-Americana soundscape that combines ragtime, blues, bluegrass, Klezmer and hot jazz.” – Boston Globe
“Driving a silent film renaissance!” – Boston Herald
“These new live scores for classic silent movies … revive them for contemporary audiences.” – Philadelphia Metro
